We are in search of a motivated Controller to supervise and guarantee the accuracy of our financial statements. The role is crucial for establishing strong compliance practices and managing key controls to achieve our financial goals. The Controller will be central to managing cash, factory receivables, reserves, financial product remittances, and supervising product cancellations. The position offers outstanding opportunities for growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Office Operations Management: Analyze and structure office operations and procedures to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Personnel Management: Recruit, train, and oversee office staff to ensure a high-performance team.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Daily reconcile all bank accounts to maintain financial precision and integrity.
  • Report Preparation: Gather information and generate reports as required by management to aid in decision-making.
  • Account Reconciliation: Conduct monthly reconciliations for specific accounts, including floorplan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer statements, and accounts payable.
  • Finance Product Management: Guarantee timely reporting and payment of all finance product sales documents each month.
  • Tax Preparation: Aid in the timely and precise preparation of North Carolina sales tax returns.
  • Commission Reporting: Develop detailed reports on sales commissions and chargebacks for management’s review.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Support the Controller in the timely completion of monthly financial statements, adhering to dealership policies and manufacturer standards.
  • Month-End Close: Execute the accounting month-end close to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Audit Participation: Engage in the annual audit preparation to confirm compliance and precision.
  • Data Analysis: Examine the company’s accounting records to spot and correct discrepancies or imbalances.
  • Meetings and Collaboration: Participate in managerial meetings as needed and work jointly with other departments.
  • Additional Tasks: Undertake additional duties as delegated by management to facilitate business operations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Controller/Accounting Manager or five years’ progressive experience as an Office Manager is required.
  • Experience with the CDK DMS system is preferred.
