As our company grows, we are in search of a motivated Controller to supervise and guarantee the accuracy of our financial statements. The Controller will play a key role in establishing strong compliance practices and managing critical controls to meet our financial goals. This position is crucial for managing cash, factory receivables, reserves, Finance Product remittances, and supervising product cancellations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily bank deposits, including ACH and wire transfers, to ensure thorough record-keeping.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations of all bank accounts for financial precision.
  • Ensure the prompt revision and posting of monthly standard entries by the 15th of each month.
  • Keep fixed asset schedules consistent with the corresponding general ledger accounts.
  • Work closely with office staff to guarantee the consistent and timely completion of tasks.
  • Generate reports as requested by management and department heads.
  • Prepare various tax reports, such as sales tax and personal property taxes, in a timely manner.
  • Complete end-of-month procedures and financial statement reporting according to franchisor and management company standards.
  • Regularly update and maintain accounting schedules monthly.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including floor plan and bank reconciliations.
  • Report and remit payments for finance product sales documents monthly.
  • Dispatch accounts payable checks by the 15th of every month.
  • Offer suggestions to improve office operational efficiency.
  • Hold weekly meetings with company managers to discuss expenses, contracts, and receivables.
  • Aid the CFO and dealership managers in budgeting.
  • Reconcile and report Monthly Parts accounts to the CFO.
  • Organize and oversee Monthly Physical inventories with the CFO and Variable Operations Director.
  • Guarantee the accurate and prompt processing of title work.
  • Manage vehicle inventory daily upon receipt.
  • Process and post accounting entries for vehicle sales, service, parts, and body shop sales daily.
  • Examine outstanding repair orders and parts tickets for timely resolution.
  • Perform monthly physical vehicle inventory, reconciled with the general ledger.
  • Dispatch promptly.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a controller or four years as an office manager in automotive dealerships is required.
  • Experience with the CDK DMS system, including Payroll Plus and PayCom, is preferred.
