The Finance & Insurance Manager structures automobile transactions for clients with average to above-average credit, adhering to lender guidelines and dealership policies, ensuring expedient funding and high customer satisfaction.

F&I Manager – Duties

  • Understands and enforces dealership policies and procedures.
  • Keeps the office tidy and well-organized.
  • Promptly reports any problematic transactions to management.
  • Immediately addresses any missing stipulations indicated by the lender.
  • Upholds a standard of professional ethics and shows respect to customers.
  • Is well-versed in state finance regulations and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Engages with relevant departments effectively.
  • Trains and informs sales staff about changes in regulations and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Aligns deal structures with the guidelines of both lender and dealership.
  • Commits to honest representation of all deals.
  • Ensures deals are booked out accurately and equipment is never misrepresented.
  • Conducts credit interviews and prepares credit applications.
  • Confirms the accuracy of all essential information on the credit application before submission to the lender.
  • Guarantees the confidentiality of customer information.
  • Transparently discloses financial information to customers.
  • Offers credit insurance and service contracts for sale.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with lenders.
  • Keeps an updated lender guide of current programs and gains a thorough understanding of them.
  • Assesses new lending programs.
  • Reviews deals with lenders and diligently works through all transactions.
  • Keeps an up-to-date inventory log and advises management accordingly.
  • Assists in the sale of aging inventory.
  • Keeps accurate records of calls and contracts in transit (funding package).
  • Educates administrative staff on compiling funding packages.
  • Inspects funding packages for completeness before dispatch.
  • Assists in vehicle demonstrations when needed.
  • Creates and manages advertisements for special finance opportunities.
  • Evaluates credit reports, identifies conventional deals, and escalates them as needed.
  • Calculates the costs for special finance deals accurately (prepares profit sheets).
  • Processes deposit receipts without delay.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • Recommended qualifications include two years of experience as an F&I Manager and bilingual proficiency.
  • Candidates should also possess excellent mathematical and computer skills.
