The Finance Manager is pivotal to the dealership’s financial success. This role involves securing customer financing, structuring transactions, and offering a range of financial and insurance options to enhance customer satisfaction and increase dealership profits.

Financing and Loan Processing:

  • Meet with customers to explore financing options once they have chosen a vehicle.
  • Assess the customer’s creditworthiness and pre-qualify them for loans from different lenders.
  • Negotiate with lenders to obtain favorable terms and interest rates for the customer.
  • Secure financing approval and finalize the loan documentation process.
  • Ensure all loan documents are precise and comply with regulatory standards.

Product Presentation and Sales:

  • Presenting and explaining a range of financial and insurance products, such as extended warranties, gap insurance, and service contracts, is essential.
  • It’s important to tailor product recommendations to align with the customer’s needs and budget.
  • Overcoming objections and effectively closing deals on finance and insurance products is a key skill.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of all the products offered and their benefits is crucial.

Deal Structuring and Profitability:

  • Structure financing deals that meet customer needs while maximizing dealership profit.
  • Utilize various tools and techniques to increase profitability within legal and ethical boundaries.
  • Track sales performance and identify opportunities to improve F&I penetration (percentage of customers purchasing F&I products).

Customer Service and Relationship Building:

  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the financing process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • Build trust and rapport with customers, addressing their concerns and questions with professionalism.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming demeanor in sometimes high-pressure situations.

Compliance and Regulations:

  • Ensure all financing and sales practices comply with federal and state regulations (e.g., Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act).
  • Stay informed about updates to regulations and adapt processes accordingly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Train and mentor sales staff on F&I products and processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with lenders and insurance providers.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly sales reports and financial analysis (as needed).
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient), which includes kindness, optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
  • Requires a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in automotive finance or a related field, such as insurance management, banking, or lending.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of automotive financing principles and loan options, excellent sales and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of closing deals and meeting sales targets.
  • Exhibits exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in computer skills and dealership management software (DMS), the ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and knowledge of F&I regulations and compliance is advantageous.
