We are in search of an experienced and goal-oriented Automotive General Manager to manage all aspects of dealership operations. The perfect candidate will possess a solid track record in sales, finance, and customer service in the automotive industry. This position demands outstanding servant leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and the capacity to enhance profitability alongside achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Annual expected earnings greater than $800,000.

General Manager Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation package for the General Manager position includes a competitive salary of $6,000 per month, plus 1.5% of the store’s gross revenue and an additional 10% of the store’s net profit.

A minimum of two years’ experience as an Automotive General Manager is required.

Paid Time Off (PTO):

We value work-life balance and provide industry-leading paid time off (PTO). New full-time employees accrue four hours per pay period, which amounts to approximately 96 hours in the first year, with incremental increases thereafter.

Comprehensive Benefits Package: Hannah Motor Company offers comprehensive health benefits beginning in the first month following 60 days of employment. Paid Holidays: Hannah Motor Company provides a minimum of two paid holidays annually to the General Manager, contingent upon the completion of the introductory period and fulfillment of other eligibility criteria in accordance with company policy.

General Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Manages overall store operations to enhance profitability.
  • Oversees daily operating controls (DOC), suggesting better strategies when needed.
  • Directs and supervises dealership management and staff, assessing managerial performance.
  • Convenes monthly with owners to evaluate departmental performance.
  • Works with managers to set monthly and yearly goals and objectives, and reviews actual performance.
  • Supplies the dealer with precise reports on the dealership’s financial status.
  • Ensures monthly financial data is thorough and correct.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with financial institutions and manufacturers.
  • Disseminates management policies and procedures to all staff, ensuring comprehension and compliance.
  • Offers dynamic leadership to mold employee attitudes and boost morale.
  • Conducts regular management meetings to guarantee departmental efficiency and profitability.
  • Recruits, educates, oversees, and inspires all department managers at the dealership.
  • Reviews all requests for training, approves those which are appropriate and consistent with the dealership’s goals for professional/technical ability and advancement, and monitors their effectiveness.
  • Reviews and approves compensation plans for all employees.
  • Coordinates with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
  • Develops merchandising strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
  • Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
  • Ensures all direct reports understand and follow company/factory policies
  • Monitor expenses of store

General Manager Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2 years of Automotive General Manager experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of dealership operations.
  • 5 years proven prior performance as a top-level manager at a franchised auto dealership preferred.
  • Demonstrated forward thinking, positive, and progressive leadership style.
  • Demonstrated strong ethical composition; oversee and enforce company policies, procedures, and corporate culture.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other General Managers and Corporate Office Management and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle HR related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict between employees and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills (including listening, speaking).
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work alone, self-motivate and manage one’s own time. Physical ability to use computer hardware/software and demonstrated computer literacy (MS Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, ADP, CDK, HR systems).
  • Organized and extremely detail and deadline oriented.
