Mills Auto Group is actively searching for a dedicated and seasoned Parts Director for our multi-franchise (Toyota/Hyundai) operations in the North Wilkesboro, North Carolina region. The role is full-time, offering a base salary with a commission-based incentive in the automotive sector. The Parts Director will be responsible for supervising purchasing, inventory control, sales, and the parts department’s profitability. This individual contributor role demands a robust leader capable of managing a team to achieve outstanding outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, including purchasing, inventory management, sales, and profitability.
  • Establish and sustain relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing and terms to secure the best value for the company.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance parts sales and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze sales and inventory data to spot trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Train and mentor the parts department staff to deliver outstanding customer service and meet sales targets.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels and efficient stocking practices to satisfy the needs of the service department and retail customers.
  • Keep the parts department clean and organized, adhering to company standards.
  • Work with other department managers to find cross-selling opportunities and boost overall business performance.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures for the parts department to comply with company and industry standards.
  • Handle and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Continuously review and adjust pricing strategies to stay competitive in the market.
  • Maintain precise records of parts and labor sales for reporting and analysis.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with some college coursework or a degree being preferred.
  • Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in an automotive parts management role, exhibit strong leadership and team management skills, and be proficient in inventory management and purchasing.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, along with knowledge of automotive parts and industry trends.
  • The ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software is necessary.
  • Flexibility to work hours that may include weekends and holidays is also required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $130,000 annually, with payments made on a semi-monthly basis. Beyond the competitive pay, we offer a full benefits package that includes health insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities.
