Coaching and Leadership

  • Overseeing staffing levels and fostering associate engagement through recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, evaluation, motivation, and rewarding of Service Department personnel is key.
  • This role involves communicating departmental and individual goals and objectives to ensure clarity in job expectations and requirements.
  • It emphasizes pushing accountability across all levels of the department and addressing underperformance urgently.
  • Understanding the developmental needs of team members and prioritizing training are essential.
  • The role is proactive in recruiting and attracting top talent to the dealership and supports fellow managers with solutions advantageous to the entire dealership.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Aims to be a leader in CSI performance and instills this expectation in each team member.
  • Prioritizes the customer experience, ensuring it is not undermined by conflicting policies, compensation plans, or individuals.
  • Utilizes customer feedback to pinpoint shortcomings and execute corrective measures.
  • Operational Excellence.

Operational Excellence

  • Constructs the ideal shop layout and allocates work processes to maximize Technician productivity.
  • Trains and develops Advisors to excel in Repair Order (RO) Quantity and Quality.
  • Creates and enacts clear, sustainable processes that achieve targeted results.
  • Targets and reduces waste, ensuring receivables, unapplied time, and policy expenses are within guidelines.
  • Drives expected profits through the management of pricing, productivity, personnel costs, and operating expenses.
  • Maintains departmental and staff compliance with corporate, factory, and governmental policies and regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in retail automotive service and parts, with two years as a Service Manager/Director.
  • Familiarity with the CDK dealer management system is advantageous.
  • A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record are required.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary; a college degree is preferred.
