We seek a detail-focused service manager to oversee our service department and manage customer interactions, documentation, and repairs. The service manager is responsible for delivering top-tier customer service, fostering enduring customer relationships, and supervising the service team. A comprehensive understanding of industry standards, practices, and the company’s offerings is essential for the service manager.

A successful service manager should exhibit a robust sales-oriented mindset and outstanding leadership abilities. Additionally, they should possess the skills to cultivate and sustain solid, affirmative relationships with customers and external vendors.

Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Delegating and overseeing service tasks, tracking the progress of ongoing projects, and managing team members to achieve the team’s objectives and sales targets.
  • Addressing customer complaints and concerns swiftly and professionally to uphold excellent customer relations and secure repeat business.
  • Assisting with or handling administrative duties, such as updating invoices, processing orders, and monitoring inventory.
  • Establishing and maintaining a service desk, assessing its effectiveness. Troubleshooting service desk issues and enhancing service methods to boost productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Keeping track of departmental issues and client grievances to devise strategies to reduce repeat problems.
  • Conducting audits of work and customer service to meet the company’s standards of excellence, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Cultivating robust relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
  • Aiding in the training of new staff in company protocols.
  • Keeping abreast of industry regulations, constraints, and laws to ensure compliance, and staying informed about the industry’s standards and the latest innovations, materials, tools, and procedures.

Service Manager Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, administration, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in sales and management may be beneficial.
  • In-depth industry knowledge is essential.
  • Candidates should possess excellent leadership, communication, sales, and customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer use and strong organizational skills are necessary.
  • The role demands robust creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively.
