We seek a detail-focused service manager to oversee our service department and manage customer interactions, documentation, and repairs. The service manager is responsible for delivering top-tier customer service, fostering enduring customer connections, and supervising the service team. A comprehensive understanding of industry norms and practices, along with in-depth knowledge of the company’s offerings, is essential for the service manager.

A successful service manager should exhibit a robust sales-oriented mindset and outstanding leadership capabilities. Additionally, they must be adept at building and sustaining solid, affirmative relationships with both customers and external suppliers.

Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of ongoing projects, and managing service team members to ensure the achievement of the team’s objectives and sales targets.
  • Addressing customer complaints or concerns swiftly and professionally to maintain excellent customer relationships and secure repeat business.
  • Assisting with or handling administrative duties, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and overseeing inventory.
  • Establishing and maintaining a service desk, as well as assessing its effectiveness.
  • Addressing service desk issues and enhancing service methods to boost the service desk’s productivity and customer service.
  • Tracking departmental issues and client complaints to devise strategies to reduce recurring problems.
  • Conducting audits of work and customer service to ensure the company’s high standards, as well as efficiency and productivity objectives, are achieved.
  • Sustaining robust relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
  • Contributing to the training of new employees in company protocols.
  • Keeping abreast of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws to ensure the company’s compliance, and staying informed about the industry’s standards and the latest innovations, materials, tools, and processes.

Service Manager Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, administration, or related field.
  • Previous sales and management experience may be advantageous.
  • Strong industry knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy and good organizational skills.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
