The Service Technician delivers automotive services through efficient, safe inspections, repairs, maintenance, and installations, adhering to quality and time standards while complying with the dealership’s safety and environmental policies. Automotive services encompass, but are not limited to, driveability, suspension, alignment, steering, heating and air conditioning, as well as basic and ABS brakes, and exhaust systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Enhances the dealership’s image by maintaining a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a tidy work area.
• Conducts road tests on vehicles to confirm the quality of repairs.
• Recommends additional services to the Service Advisor for customer notification.
• Accurately completes service and repair tasks to meet quality standards and test drive requirements.
• Gathers all necessary details before ordering parts, such as the model year.
• Possesses an adequate set of personal tools and ensures they are well-maintained.
• Informs the service advisor of any expected delays.
• Keeps the customer’s vehicle clean.
• Encourages cooperative relationships with colleagues.
• Records services performed in a clear and readable manner for both the customer and the dealership.
• Demonstrates an accessible demeanor and promotes open dialogue through attentive listening.
• Supports Service Advisors by clarifying repair details to customers when needed.
• Provides assistance to fellow technicians.
• Conducts routine maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on dealership tools and equipment.
• Keeps the facility orderly and clean at all times.
• Executes factory warranty repairs following specified guidelines.
• Remains informed about the latest technical services via training, bulletins, and campaigns.
• Adheres to safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and hazardous waste guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants should have education, training, and/or state or national certifications that clearly demonstrate the knowledge and skills required as stated.
• A High School diploma or its equivalent is necessary.
• Candidates must be able to read and understand instructions and information, operate a motor vehicle, and possess a valid in-state driver’s license with a good driving record.
• The ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and use a computer and calculator is essential.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with customers, vendors, and other contacts are required.
• Applicants must be capable of lifting up to 70 lbs and agree to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

HOURS OF WORK:

• Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Saturday (work every 3rd) 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
