Anderson Auto is seeking a product specialist to become part of our team. The role involves assisting customers in purchasing vehicles, a vital function that significantly impacts our business success.

The product specialist will identify and support customers throughout their car purchasing journey, deliver outstanding customer service, and ensure a memorable car buying experience. The specialist’s duty is to facilitate seamless transactions, achieving the utmost customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure every customer experiences exceptional service by fostering a friendly environment, which includes greeting each customer, upholding high standards, and possessing thorough product knowledge, along with all other facets of customer service.
  • Take on the direct responsibility for selling vehicles, adhering to volume and customer satisfaction standards set at the dealership’s discretion.
  • Work with the sales manager to establish and achieve new and pre-owned sales quotas. Attain the profit margin objectives for vehicle sales.
  • Greet customers promptly with politeness and friendliness.
  • Adhere consistently to the defined sales process.
  • Make efficient use of floor time to address the customer’s needs and drive sales.
  • Identify each customer’s vehicle requirements through inquiry and active listening.
  • Showcase and conduct test drives of vehicles.
  • Ensure customers are eligible based on their desires, needs, and purchasing power.
  • Keep up-to-date with new products, features, accessories, etc., and understand their advantages for customers.
  • Implement a follow-up system for owners that promotes repeat and referral business, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about the automobile industry’s terminology and the latest technological advancements in our products.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and road tests prior to handing over to the customer.
  • Complete the vehicle delivery to customers post-purchase, ensuring they comprehend the vehicle’s operational aspects, warranty, and documentation, thereby establishing the groundwork for customer loyalty.
  • Conduct telephone transactions courteously and promptly.
  • Move and arrange display vehicles on showroom and on lot as directed by management.
  • Deal with customer complaints in a sensible manner by showing empathy and a pleasant attitude to show our commitment to excellent customer service and to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Know and understand the federal, state and local laws, which govern retail auto sales.
  • Attend pertinent training and stay current with sales department concerns and sales techniques.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner, immediately reporting any accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Shows when scheduled to work, on time, ready and able to perform essential job functions. 
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Automotive sales experience helpful, but not required.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This role is dynamic, with responsibilities spanning across the dealership. It involves working outdoors, within the dealership premises, and at a desk. The position regularly requires the use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This full-time position has varying days and hours to align with the sales department’s operational hours, which are Monday through Saturday, 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. The role frequently involves working evenings and weekends.

Travel

Travel is not often required for this position.  There may be occasional travel to pick up or deliver vehicles from other locations.
