The IT Manager role in Planning and Operations encompasses IT Strategy & Planning, IT Financial Management, IT Operations and Management, IT Vendor Management, IT Workforce Planning, and Resource Management. The individual in this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and operational plans for IT Operations & Technology, as well as centrally coordinating all IT business office functions. The ideal candidate will display a proactive attitude, tackling work with energy and determination. The ideal candidate possesses a robust background in IT Management Planning, with a proven track record of executing multiple transformational workforce projects, preferably within the Automotive or Industrial sectors. Role:

  • Build and IT workforce strategy in partnership with all functions within IT.
  • Identify training programs and staff development programs as needed
  • Coordinate forecasting and budgeting resource planning for Information leadership team.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring of resource management applications. Post analysis evaluation of IT team statistics and reporting relating to the programs.
  • Serve as a strategy advisor and subject-matter expert for all IT workforce planning activities.
  • Continuously assess existing workforce plans to ensure practical skills and technology alignment.
  • Develop detailed IT workforce budgets through historical performance/trends and benchmark against industry best methods/trends
  • Oversees the operation of the dealership-wide computer system and related peripherals.
  • Establishes/monitors and maintains the dealership network environment, directories and security. Maintains backup of all files, security and rights.
  • Applies knowledge in the maintenance and operation of computer hardware, operating systems and related software applications.
  • Instructs staff in use of the dealership and manufacturer computer systems.
  • Purchases all computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
  • Coordinates equipment installation and maintenance activities with appropriate department managers to avoid disruption in communications and ensures efficiency of operations.
  • Assists department heads with setting up and fully utilizing management information systems.
  • Designs, develops, and updates computer generated forms, manuals management reports and other items as requested.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of IT management and organization strategy and planning experience, preferably in automotive/industrial company
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equal experience
  • Expertise in IT trends for manufacturing/automotive/renewable industries
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Excellent Project Management skills, proficient in Project Management framework and tools
  • Thrives in a high-pressure environment
  • Excels in executive decision making with clear pros/cons & cost/benefit analysis rationale
  • Experience in managing teams both directly and indirectly, ability to execute through others
  • Passion for excellence and delivering business value
  • Experience leading or managing small teams effectively and planning/structuring analytical work
  • Track record of delivering results that demonstratively improve the IT customer experience
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence and lead complex projects with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical skills and interpersonal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate problem solving teams & cross functional teams
