Anderson Powersports is seeking a lot porter to become part of our team. The role of the lot porter involves keeping all vehicles and the company premises clean. This position is crucial as it significantly impacts the efficiency of our business operations.

Summary/Objective

The Lot Porter plays a crucial role in supporting both the Sales and Service Departments by maintaining the new and pre-owned vehicle lots and transporting vehicles to the proper departments for service and inventory management. Customers anticipate that vehicles will be in pristine condition, and the Lot Porter is key in delivering a positive initial impression as customers arrive on the lot or retrieve their vehicles.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain the appearance of stock vehicles – All vehicles should be washed.
  • Report any mechanical issues immediately to a Service Manager.
  • Prepare vehicles for delivery – Wash each vehicle and perform a quality check. Inspect for any damage, drivability, and cleanliness before delivery.
  • Maintain the appearance of the lot and showroom.
  • Keep the new and pre-owned lots neat and orderly.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment – Always drive safely, wear a seatbelt, and adhere to the 5 MPH speed limit on dealership property.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction – Ensure work is done correctly the first time to avoid any comebacks, making sure vehicles are thoroughly clean. Proper work ensures customer satisfaction and repeat business. All comebacks are given top priority!
  • Carry out additional tasks as instructed.
  • Be present when scheduled to work, punctual, prepared, and capable of performing essential job functions.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and practices.

Required Education/Skills/Abilities

  • Preferred qualifications include three years of licensed driving experience and a good driving record.
  • A High School diploma or GED is also preferred.
  • Experience in washing/detailing cars is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Candidates must consistently act in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Passing a drug screen and background check is required.

Work Environment

This role involves working across the entire dealership, with time spent outside exposed to the weather and elements.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This full-time role has a flexible schedule to align with the service and sales departments’ operational hours. The position often necessitates working evenings and weekends.

Please note that schedules may change. Whenever feasible, a two-week notice will be given prior to any schedule alterations.

Travel

The lot porter might be required to drive vehicles from one dealership to another.
