Anderson Powersports is seeking a service technician to become part of our team. The role involves performing comprehensive services and repairs on customer vehicles that are brought into our shop. This crucial position significantly impacts the success of our business operations.

The service technician is tasked with executing bumper-to-bumper services on vehicles at the dealership. This vital role guarantees that our customers receive high-quality service on their vehicles, fostering high customer satisfaction and ensuring that their vehicles are safe and pleasant to drive, which promotes longstanding repeat business.

Essential Functions

  • We conduct general repair and replacement services, including brake pads and shoes, tires, wheel alignment, steering and suspension components, wheel bearings, exhaust systems, heating and cooling systems, air conditioning, drivetrain, and accessory installations.
  • We perform maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid exchanges, filter replacements, fuel system services, preventative maintenance, and belt and hose replacements.
  • Our evaluation services include charging system analysis, brake inspections, fluid leak evaluations, and tire pressure and tread depth readings.
  • We conduct visual safety and courtesy inspections and perform diagnostic services for emissions control systems, drivability concerns, overheating, ABS and SRS systems, and electrical and air conditioning systems.
  • We also handle advanced repair and replacement services, including timing belts, intake manifold gaskets, head gaskets, brake hydraulics, rear main seals, clutches, axle bearings, steering gears, sensors, switches, and modules.
  • We adhere to factory specifications as the standard for all repair, service, and customization work.
  • Our goal is 100% productivity, and we strive to maintain that standard.
  • We receive service assignments from the service writer or service manager and ensure that repair work is completed within the allotted time.
  • We set goals, develop skills, and constantly work to increase our efficiency skill level.
  • Parts requests are submitted promptly once the requirements for a job are determined.
  • We keep the service writer or service manager informed of any additional work that may be necessary or any delays to the estimated completion time, ensuring that customers receive up-to-date information.
  • We assist the service advisor as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with customers, or in any other way to guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • We ensure that the proper paperwork is completed and filed after every job completion and maintain our technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Seeking candidates with 2 to 5 years of experience in an UTV, ATV, Boat, Watercraft technician or mechanic role.
  • A High School diploma or GED is preferred. ASE certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Applicants must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to learn new technologies and processes and adapt to change.
  • They should be innovative, capable of solving complex problems, and able to present new ideas.
  • They must be able to follow both oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
  • They should have a proven track record of effectively managing multiple priorities, organizing their workload, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in a team-based environment and achieving common goals is essential.
  • A “safety first” attitude is crucial.
  • Candidates should have a basic understanding of the English language and basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate web browsers and use standard applications.
